Just wanted to drop you a line to say once again that I was extremely pleased with Wild Rider and my car rental. I was especially impressed with Jose, who spent at least an hour with us going over how to deal with police, what to do in the event of a breakdown or accident, and helping us to fine-tune our extensive driving plans in CR. He is a great guy and a huge asset to Wild Rider.

The small 4x4 gave us not a speck of trouble despite plenty of mileage on it -- the vehicle was mechanically in tip-top condition. I have come to understand the wisdom of not driving around CR in a flashy new vehicle (which can make you a target), so I had no problem at all with the car looking like a typical Tico beater.

After awful experiences on previous trips being ripped off by the 'big name' rental companies, I was skeptical of Wild Rider right up to the minute I dropped the car off at the end of our rental. I kept waiting for an insurance scam, bogus damage to the car or some such thing. I was bewildered and thrilled when none of that happened.

Needless to say, I will be renting from Wild Rider on my next trip to CR, and will recommend your company to anyone traveling there.

we are back in Belgium after a 45 day trip to costarica. The weather sucks here and we are already homesick for the tropics. We had a realy good time overthere and where able to get to the more remote spots all over C.R. Most of the roads we did where gravel or earth often in bad shape. The Terios we rented from you took it all in his stride even when our bodies started to ache from all the tossing around. Say thanks to your mechanic department for the good maintenance of these workhorses! Another thank you for timely delivery and pick up of the car even if Jose had to come all the way to Liberia. We appreciate his friendlyness and the time he took to explain us everything and set us at ease at the start of our trip. All communication went smooth and we feel we could not have chosen a better company to rent from. We wish you all the best and we hope to come back to Costa Rica before the end of the year.

Hallo Thorsten, vielen Dank nochmal an Dich und Dein Wild-Rider-Team für die wirklich guten und zuverlässigen Moppeds und die gute Betreuung vor, während und nach der Tour durch Costa Ricas Süden und Panamas Norden, auch im Namen von Hans, der erstmalig mit dabei war auf solch einer Tour. Ich war ja schon das zweite mal hintereinander in Costa Rica (letztes Jahr allein und dieses Jahr mit Kumpel Hans) und es hat mir wieder ausserordentlich gut gefallen. Das Abenteuer fuhr jeden Tag ein wenig mit und jeder Tag war eine neue und aufregende, positive Herausforderung. Ich/wir haben bei klarem Wetter auf 3.500 Metern Höhe den Vulkan Irazu gesehen und in den Krater schauen können, haben am höchsten Punkt das Spiel der Wolken erlebt (Hans als Münchner und Bergkenner sagte : "der Berg lebt" und ich sage, er hat recht), haben am Strand von Miguel Antonio nahe Quepos Affen, Faultiere, Leguane und Papageien gesehen und sind stundenlang über Schotterpisten auf einsamen Passstrassen gefahren.
Die beiden Moppeds (Suzuki DR 650) waren dabei stets treue und zuverlässige Begleiter, herzlichen Dank nochmal dafür.
Es wird sicherlich nicht die letzte Tour gewesen sein.

It was a perfect father-son trip before going to collage.
You both went out of your way to make this a successful trip for us regardless of the events occurred( Jonathan "flying" off the bike and breaking the handle).
It was greatly appreciated changing the tour, bringing the jeep down to the hotel and picking us up again to complete the motorcycle tour later on.
This kind of flexibility and accommodation are un heard of, in the us and we definitely appreciate it.

Thorsten.... Been back from our Costa Rican Adventure for 2 weeks now and just wanted to take a moment to thank you for EVERYTHING.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and I was reluctant to rent from an agency that I was not familiar with - not anymore! The Terios was really a great little 4X4 and accommodated my wife, daughter and I perfectly with plenty of room for our 3 pieces of luggage. Your company's services were exactly as you said from the minute we landed at San Jose. Your representative, Jose, met us exactly where you said he would and was an excellent representative for your company. He was extremely polite, helpful and informative. He not only programmed our destination into the GPS but even assisted me in getting US dollars converted to colones. On our return flight out of Liberia, Jose met us exactly where he said he would at the Liberia airport. Please tell him "thank you" again for us! He deserves a raise!!

Lastly, your communication with me via email was prompt and precise. I will not hesitate to recommend Wild Rider and will contact you when we return to visit your beautiful country.

I have been somewhat remiss in writing to you and thanking you for services in renting me the car during my stay in Costa Rica in February and March. You delivered exactly what you said and everything went quite well.

I am in the process of making arrangements for next winter and wanted to see if there was a possibility of working with you again but perhaps at a lesser cost. The reality is that the car goes only from San Jose to Mal Pais and back again. During my visit I might use it every day to go to dinner or grocery shopping but for the most part we are talking very little use, as I am sure you noted. I also assume it's of some benefit to have one single renter for 7-8 weeks with no down time but obviously this is all in your hands. Again, your services were terrific and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.

It's not that the $40/day is a bad rate. It's not. It's quite a good one but when calculated against a 7 or 8 week stay it becomes quite difficult to do. So, before I went on the hunt I thought I'd at least give it a shot to see if we couldn't make some kind of deal.

Wir waren rund um gut aufgehoben bei euch, haben tolle Tipps bekommen und alles hat perfekt geklappt. Am Ende haben wir uns wie echte "Wild Rider" gefühlt. Die fröhlichen Gesichter auf den Bildern, die wir beilegen, sprechen Bände und das Lächeln kommt jedes Mal zurück, wenn wir an unseren traumhaften Urlaub in Costa Rica denken.

Insbesondere die sehr faire Verfahrensweise bezüglich des Lackschadens, der während unserer Reise am Wagen entstanden ist, fanden wir genauso entzückend wie unseren Urlaub in Costa Rica.
Statt der von euch für den Schaden berechneten 50 $ hättet Ihr uns wahrscheinlich auch 500 $ abnehmen können, ohne dass wir uns hätten wehren können.

Hallo Torsten und Team, bin gut zurück im kalten Norden von Deutschland. Die Woche in Costa Rica war traumhaft schön, habe viele nette Menschen kennengelernt und einiges von dem schönen Land gesehen. Danke nochmal an Dich/Euch für das gute und zuverlässige Motorrad und die nützlichen Tipps.
Tja, und wenn man erst einmal dort gewesen ist, will man auch gern wieder zurück. Ich habe mir nun vorgenommen, im nächsten Jahr so etwa um die gleiche Zeit für 10 Tage wieder ein Motorrad bei Euch zu mieten, an die Karibikküste zu fahren, von dort über die Grenze nach Panama, dort 5 Nächte bleiben und rumfahren und dann im Süden von Costa Rica wieder zurück.
Ist das möglich?

es ist fast 2 Jahre her(März 2008)das wir bei Euch waren.
Vor kurzem haben wir wieder mal die "Wild Rider" Bekannten dringenst empfohlen.

An dieser Stelle nochmals Dank für die unkomplizierte Änderung von 2 Wochen superzuverlässigem Terrios und einer Woche Moped auf drei Wochen Terrios aufgrund eines tragischen Todes in der Familie meiner Frau in Deutschland.

Ich empfehle Euch jedem der sich mit dem Gedanken eines CR_Urluabs befasst, zumal ich schon 2001 bei Euch für drei Wochen eine gut präparierte und zuverlässige DR 350 gemietet hatte (war das eigentl noch eine der ERSTEN?)

Auch die Tipps und Hinweise sowie der vereinbarte FEST-Preis und der unkomplizierte Umgang heben Euch weit von Euren Mitbewerbern ab.

Also bleibt bitte so und weiter viel Erfolg bis wieder einmal

möchte mich auch auf diesem Wege für all Eure Hilfe während unserer Costa Rica Reise bedanken. Mit Eurer Hilfe hat vieles besser funktioniert.

Wir sind schon viel in der Welt herumgekommen, auch da und dort mußten wir uns Fahrzeuge ausleihen.

Es hat jedoch nirgendwo ein derartig unkonventionelles und schnelles Handeln der Verleiher gegeben. Eure Vorgangsweise ist absolut professionell, aber auch sehr menschlich! Ihr wißt, worauf es ankommt!

Ein Beispiel:
Wer kann schon erwarten, daß bei einer Panne am Nachmittag, die ein Weiterfahren unmöglich macht, noch am selben Tag euer Mechaniker anreist, auf der Strecke zwischendurch übernachtet, und am morgen (1/2 8 Uhr!!!) das Motorrad bereits wieder fahrtüchtig ist. Wahnsinn!

Auch eure Tips und Vorschläge hinsichtlich des Reiseverlaufes und der Unterkünfte waren immer voll zutreffend und gut ausgewählt.

Macht weiter so!

It was a phenomenal time, and I certainly won't need to look at renting from anyone else next time I'm down. You guys are great, easy to contact, and very responsive. Flying into San Jose would be easier, as Highway 1 through the mountains at night isn't the most relaxing drive. It wasn't horrible, however. This time, I just happened to get a got a really good fare into Liberia.

I'll mention Wild Rider to a friend who may be going to Costa Rica in the next couple of months. I'll see what he thinks, however, as he might not have quite enough riding experience for touring Costa Rica by motorcycle. One thing I found out quickly: you really do need to be a good rider to feel comfortable there!

hallo thorsten!!

uns hat hat es sehr gefallen. wir haben uns 2 wochen wie im paradies gefuehlt :-)))
wir sind zum vista golfo gefahren, als ich dir genatwortet hatte, hatte ich es nicht auf dem schirm, dass es da um das canopy-hotel ging. das canopy war natuerlich super, aber darueber hinaus fand ich die anlage da wunderschoen!!! das essen war auch super. da war ich zeitlich ja noch nicht ganz drin und dann habe ich mich um 5 uhr morgens vor unser zimmer gesetzt und den tieren beim aufstehen zugeguckt, das war toll. coolibris waren cool.

in la fortuna war es auch schoen. im baldi waren wir auch, da nebensaison war mussten wir "nur" 25 $ eintritt zahlen. mir hat die nebensaisonzeit sehr gut gefallen, denn so war es ueberall ganz leer. im baldi waren noch 4 andere mit uns da.

danach sind wir nach cahuita gefahren. da hat es uns auch gut gefallen.

To those people who are checking out Wild Rider Car Rentals:

There we were at a service station in Palmar Norte near the Osa Peninsula. The radiator was steaming and we were overheating. We speak very little Spanish and the attendants spoke no English. Through gestures we got to a phone and called Wild Rider. Thorsten guided us through getting the car to a garage and a taxi to get us back to our bungalow. Thomas arrived the next afternoon after a six hour drive with a replacement car. Wild Rider credited me the two lost days and even reimbursed the cost of the taxi. I am impressed with the ethics and honesty of the people at Wild Rider. Most rental car agencies would have told me that it was tough luck that the car broke down and good luck finding help. Wild Rider was there when I needed them.
